Toasting the Remaining Days of Winter

With the mercury stubbornly settled way below average and snow slush greying on the sidewalks, the upcoming Vernal Equinox on March 20th will be a most welcome day.

For those not quite ready to bid adieu to Old Man Winter (we hear there are some of you out there) – or if you’re simply thirsting for the perfect Oscar Sunday bev – raise a glass of one of our favorite cold weather libations from our Seasonal Bar Menu:

Winter Solstice

  • 2 oz Rum
  • 1 oz Rosemary-Earl Grey Syrup*
  • Splash fresh lime juice
  • 3 dashes Scrappy’s Lime Bitters
  • Fever Tree ginger beer


In a Highball glass, build drink with syrup, juice, bitters and rum.  Add ice.  Top with ginger beer.  Garnish with lime wedge.

*Rosemary-Earl Grey Syrup

  • ¾ to 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary

Add sugar and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.  Pull off heat and steep for 10 minutes with rosemary and tea bags.  Strain and let cool.
