This past weekend, for the first time since 1920, the America’s Cup World Series Regatta returned to the Hudson River – and buoy, was it thrilling!
The high-tech catamaran race included teams from six nations and boasted an audience of over 70,000 spectators, including VIP guests who cheered from their party yachts and luxury suites while sipping champagne and dining on CxRA’s delectable shrimp cocktail and seafood bar, complete with a selection of Atlantic oysters, mussels, jumbo shrimp, seared diver scallops, and little neck clams. Not a bad way to spend the weekend if we do say so ourselves!
The VIP hospitality for the weekend kicked off with a cocktail reception featuring our CxRA Biergarten, complete with Chiriboga Blue Cheese, Bratwurst in a Blanket with Beer and Horseradish Mustard, Chicken Wiener Schnitzel, Apple Cider Braised Red Cabbage, and Mini Munich Style Pretzels with Cheddar Ale Sauce. The Churrascaria station always seems to steal the show though with its Creekstone Farm hanger steak, gulf shrimp and chorizo, cilantro chicken and garden vegetable skewers.
On Saturday and Sunday the VIP guests in the America’s Cup Legends Club enjoyed panoramic views of the race from the 14th floor of Brookfield Place and delicious seasonal menus including yummy Deviled Eggs with Bacon, Foraged Mushroom Pie, Sliced Porchetta Roast (Loin of Pork), Grilled Chicken Breast with Heirloom Tomato Salsa, and Black Pepper Cavatappi Pasta.
By Sunday evening, guests were partied out and fully quenched. While Team New Zealand pulled ahead for the win, USA Team Oracle came in a solid second place followed by Team Land Rover BAR in third. CxRA extends a huge congratulation to all those who participated! Here’s to you.
